The single greatest album in Rock History (Exile on Main Street) was birthed in the basement of this Villa in 1971. While most tracks were then later completed in Los Angeles, the roots of what today is accepted as Keith Richard's greatest masterpiece began here. A consistent revolving door of hangers on, celebrities, musicians (including Gram Parsons, who's country soul influence abounds on this album) and "merchants" plying their wares settled in with Keith and the Stone's recording team in that glorious summer. Now, it is owned by a Russian billionaire and unfortunately you cannot tour it, but the walls of Nellcote will forever be synonymous with the legend of Exile.
