SEE PHOTOS BELOW for EXAMPLE - Terrible attention to detail - amateur incompetent tradespeople - inconsiderate and useless construction manager - here is but ONE small example of MANY - our bathroom toilet paper roll was listing at an angle when it should have been horizontal - in removing the handle/cover I noticed that one screw was not even a proper wood screw - it was a machine screw that has absolutely no use - it was not attached to a stud (not that it could anyways as it is meant to be used with a nut - nor was a proper drywall anchor used - just a big hole on the left and a machine screw stuck in there for show - not doing anything - no wonder the toilet roll was hanging down - THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED EXAMPLE - how about Coventry dropping heavy items on our new front step and chipping the concrete (and then doing a lousy patch job)? HOW ABOUT IMPROPERLY WIRED LIGHT SWITCHES? I put a dimmer in the baby's room and it simultaneously controlled the lights in the master bathroom (rooms wired in series - how amateur is that?) HOW about never receiving light covers for the fluorescent fixtures in our garage despite several requests? How about a massive drywall mud mess on our outer wall and a refusal to clean it? How about an attic vent that was misaligned/damaged and clicked incessantly with the wind (mentioned during the initial frame in walk through and twice after that)? How about a ruined $4000 backsplash that took weeks to resolve and ultimately was never put in properly? How about in the SAME bathroom as mentioned earlier a toilet seat that was scratched - and RATHER THAN REPLACE IT THEY TOOK STEEL WOOL TO IT AND SCUFFED IT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE IT WAS 'SATIN' WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHINY (real professional work there trying to save a buck rather than address the customer issue honestly)? HOW ABOUT A DRIVEWAY THAT WAS POURED WITH TOO MUCH MOISTURE AND INCORRECTLY DONE (brother in law is a Civil Engineer and he spotted it right away). This is who you are dealing with - HOW ABOUT A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER WHO REFUSED TO WORK AROUND YOUR PROFESSIONAL SCHEDULE AND COMPLAINED THAT WE WERE TAKING TIME AWAY FROM HIS FAMILY BECAUSE WE COULD NOT MEET BEFORE 4:30PM? Think about this when they try to sell you a home and see how happy you are when you deal with them afterwards. AMATEURS all the way - BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE . . . how about ORDERING A GYM PACKAGE and the CONSTRUCTION MANAGER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT GOES IN THE PACKAGE - so during the walk through equipment is missing and he has NO IDEA - SAME MANAGER called me one day and said - "DO YOU WANT BASEBOARDS IN THE HOME GYM?" and I say "Yes of course we would - why are you asking?' - and he says "Well they CUT THE MIRRORS THE WRONG LENGTH AND NOW WE HAVE TO MOVE THEM OUT . . ." - and of course he sounded angry/upset when we requested that they do it properly. I know that every builder can have some issues from time to time - but as demonstrated with the pictures in one example this company takes shortcuts and believe me I have found several of them . . . when you spend $565,000 for a home do you want to be experiencing these ISSUES a year or two DOWN THE ROAD when they are LONG GONE and HAVE YOUR MONEY? Think about this - 'Caveat Emptor' aka 'Buyer Beware'.
