This car buying experience was by far the worst I have ever been through. I am now stuck with a vehicle that doesn t perform as listed nor expected. David Mitchell ruthlessly lied to me; only to then pawn me off on another salesman to bail out of answering questions and listening to my concerns. He first urged me to sign the contract without seeing the vehicle. The following day, I got the vehicle. I noticed a visible scratch behind the passenger rear door; he said he didn t trust anyone in his detail department to fix it and he would do it himself. So far I trusted him. My mistake! I bought this vehicle with 2500 miles already used as NEW. I accepted a higher payment due to a lower interest rate. 9 days later the car is not even getting 21 mpg; I drive Highway only (60 mile commute every day); this Escape is listed at 29 mpg for highway travel. I contacted Mitchell and he said we would look into getting me into an EcoSport instead. I went to the dealership the next day, he then pushed me off to the other salesman. I thought he was just busy; looked at the other vehicle and was pleased with it. Mitchell later advised me that I needed to register the Escape first before we could make the trade. He said the numbers would not be a problem; the discounts, rebates & incentives were there. I wouldn t have any other cost or a different payment. All lies. Once I had my paperwork to register the car, I did exactly what he asked me to do. I contacted him the following day to let him know, I was ready to get out of this gas hog. He text me, stating The Other salesman would call me in 30 minutes. He called a 1.5 hours later. Asked for some personal info and the Vin #. Another 2 hours passed and he called to tell me that they couldn t do the trade. The discounts and incentives weren t there for the EcoSport. Another lie. Their website clearly shows them listed. He said he would call me back in a couple of hours and i never heard from either salesman again. I have been had; cheated, mislead and lied to. I was not treated fairly; not as a consumer should be treated. I was simply a number; a peace of paper with dollar signs. I will never do business with McLarty Ford again and will advise everyone I know against it. I asked for help; the daily commute on I-40 often scared me in my Altima. I turned to David Mitchell for help; only to be dismissed as if I was a nobody. To him I was a nobody to Mitchell. I am someone who lives paycheck to paycheck and tries to save money wherever possible. Now, I have a bigger car payment and a bigger gas bill. I would take back my Altima in an instance, because I am not getting ahead with what i was sold and told.
