What is there to say about the largest art museum in the world? It features a massive amount of works of art from different time periods and cultures, with any proper visit undoubtedly taking up a full day.
If anything, it can be argued that, despite its massive area, it suffers from its popularity as the amount of attendees is not for everyone.

Advice: if you're not really looking to visit the whole collection, be sure to visit the 1st Saturday of the month as entrance is free from 18:00 onwards, with the museum being open until 21:45. Be sure to queue well before 18, however, as queues for entering will grow quite a lot, with not everyone being guaranteed an entrance slot. At the time people go in, some of the wings will already be closed but this type of visit will at least allows you to view the popular works like the Venus de Milo, Victory of Samothrace and the Mona Lisa amongst many other works.
