My initial experience was actually pretty pleasant...

My initial experience was actually pretty pleasant, was able to go in fairly quickly to browse the kennels. However my experience with this place AFTER adopting my dog has just been terrible. We were initially told the vet there found a small lump on his hind leg and they were going to remove it the same day they were doing his neuter surgery and stated in a voicemail that it was going to be biopsied prior to my boyfriend and I picking him up. Fast forward about a week after that voicemail and his surgery, we go to pick him up and are given no update on the status of this lump they found so figured it wasn t anything we needed to worry about. Took him to our vet about a week later to get the staples removed from where the lump was taken out and our personal vet at VCA Briarcliff informs us that in the notes of his paperwork it said a lump was found but the humane society needed our permission to biopsy it and they were going to charge us $100 to do so. Both of those things were never mentioned in the voicemail I received and STILL have saved as proof, nor was it disclosed to us at the time of picking him up. It has been over 2 weeks now of my boyfriend and I calling the humane society leaving voicemail after voicemail about whether this lump they found was biopsied or not and I m livid because this could be something serious but of course once the animal is out of their shelter, obviously no longer their problem I guess.
