DO NOT BUY COMP CAM SPRINGS!!! I saw a review on the Summit Racing website from a guy who had bought some CC springs saying that most of them were way out of tolerance from what they were supposed to be - the 'open' value. So with that in mind, and as I had a new set of dual springs (CC 995-16) and access to a near new digital Rimac valve spring tester, I decided to test them all. Well, only two were in tolerance, all others except one, fell noticeably short of their 'open' value, and the other one was way over (by 16 pounds). I also tested a set of Trick Flow springs as a comparison and all except one were within 2 pounds of spec !! The other one was about 5 pounds out. I wrote to CC Customer Service politely telling them about my findings and asked for their comment. Even gave the Batch number of that set. No reply. Sent another one, no reply. In all I sent no less than five (or was it six?) emails to customer service and the feedback area. None replied to. Is this an admission of guilt? Or just plain rude arrogance? I think both. What a nest of rude arrogant idiots! And from reading people's views about Comp springs on the various forums that I visit, I see that the general consensus is they are very average, even second rate springs compared to others out there.
I will never buy any more Comp products after this dismal "Customer Service" as now I know or won't know, what type of garbage I am actually buying. There are better products out there for not a great deal more $.
Oh, and did I mention that their website is possibly the most useless site I have ever tried to use. What a mess. Compare their site to Summit Racing which is possibly the best there is, and CC site is a joke. The search function must have been designed by a 12 year old school kid on work experience - I tried multiple times. looking for various parts that I knew they had, by name and by different sections of part number - NO RESULTS FOUND. I just gave up in the end and found the product I wanted - on Summit.
