The facilities seemed to be modernized and capable of facilitating the needs of their patients, but a few of the RNs and most of the charge nurse seemed unprofessional and distant (honestly, it felt like I was in Sunday School class when they would speak with the patient). The amenities, particularly the additional bedding for family (narrow, short, and non-supportive), was far below acceptable quality. While there were numerous examples of friendly staff, it was almost exclusively from orderlies and technicians.

The air quality was very poor, seeming to be more humid than other hospitals in the area. The room temperature was in the mid-70s, and when the patient requested that the temperature be adjusted, a nurse assistant claimed that it wasn't possible. It was the next day, when the night shift charge nurse commented that it felt stuffy and everyone in the room agreed, that a call was made to adjust the temperature.

Overall, the ambient mindset of the staff seemed to be on maximizing the efficiency with which the hospital pulls in money without regard to the patient's and/or family members' comfort. This places this hospital firmly in the business sector, and almost fully outside of the medical sector.
