Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is a large academic comprehensive public university in the United States. The main campus is located in Richmond, Virginia. Among American universities, the school is famous for its national arts, social work, medical management, and medical related departments, and has an excellent ranking. Virginia Commonwealth University is one of the largest universities in Virginia. The total number of students in the statistics in early 2005 has exceeded 29,000. The Richmond Professional Institute (RPI) and Virginia Medical College merged in 1968 to form the Virginia Commonwealth University.
