Air con wasn t working on arrival so we complained...

Air con wasn t working on arrival so we complained and had to sit on the balcony whilst the handy man changed the filter. Still didn t work, the next day we complained again. Eventually we decided to go buy fans as the temperature was unbearable! Not what you want to spend your time doing on a short trip. We asked to speak to the manager who was extremely rude ladies you are aware you are in Spain which is hot - well yes but I ve stayed at this hotel twice before so know what working air con is. Also stayed at hotter countries that have managed air con. Manager didn t seem to care and was rude and dismissive even saying that we didn t have to sit on the balcony with n arrival and could have gone out - at 11pm when we just arrived off a plane?

Next day shock horror the air con blew up! It blew all the electrics in 6 rooms. Was smoking and stank! My friend went to turn it off at the switch and sparks flew - she was lucky to not be electrocuted! Manager nowhere to be seen - shame as I wanted to say I told you so as he hadn t believed us previously! We then moved both rooms and again put in another room with air con knocking! Yet again more time wasted queing at reception to be moved room

This time in our third room the shower didn t work! But we didn t have the energy to move again so showered under a tap!

The manager and staff at this hotel need some serious training in customer service! Either that or get a new team! If a customer complains you should listen and not be so dismissive and like they are a nuisance! You are lucky my friend wasn t electrocuted!

To top it off I asked for the money back which I had paid to upgrade my room. Conveniently when we then asked for a late check out this cost the exact amount of the upgrade! Just for the record if you are considering upgrading don t bother as you get nothing different anyway

For the same price there are much better hotels in Benidorm - it s a shame as the pool is great! But in truth the staff and how they dismissed us and having to trek to find fans and moving constantly when we were only there 4 days ruined our trip - if anything we should be compensated! We wanted to come and support the spanish community even against goverment guidelines but the impression I got was that the staff didn t want English people there

Fawlty towers on acid is the only way to describe this joke of a hotel - you can see why the comedy Benidorm was set here! As the staff are a joke

If I could give zero stars that still would be too much
