I have very conflicting feelings on my stay at the Sirata, because I got to see two very different sides of the hotel. My husband and I requested a king room, and got a double queen. We requested the new rooms and to be near the wedding party we were in, and got the old section on the opposite side of the property. OUR room was disgusting. It was sandy from the time we walked in, over crowded with furniture so we couldn't have our beach stuff in there and get dressed at the same time, the bathroom shower was so low that I had to duck and I'm only 5'4". I was old, stained, and we had to constantly be emptying the dehumidifier or else the room got sticky. Not to be forgotten was the CARPET on the outside, open air breezeway outside the rooms. That flooded when it rained. To top it off, they would only let us have access to the bridal suite until noon. It was a 1030am wedding at the resort. I had to leave the reception and miss the cake cutting in order to get a new key made and get the room emptied. Unacceptable.

The flip side to all of this are the upgraded rooms where the bride stayed. The rooms were more spacious, newer, and cleaner. The property at parts was quite lovely. Rum runners had great food, very expensive but good, a fun relaxing fire pit area and easy access to the beach.

As far as hygiene and health safety: Social distancing was a joke. Mask enforcement was a joke. And hotel cleanliness was a joke. The NEVER told us that we wouldn't have maid service for the 4 days we were there so we had no clean towels, no clean beds, no emptied trash and no clean floors. The last w days my husband and I had to share a beach towel that we brought from home as our shower towel. The phone didn't work to call the front desk and ask for more so we had to walk down 4 times and they never came. It was disgusting. The staff was less than pleasant to deal with about this and it absolutely turned my off from an already gross room
