I've stayed in a lot of NYC hotels, and in fact, I've stayed in this hotel (it's been a half dozen years since then), and I will never stay here again -- and I will make sure none of my friends stay here again either. The front desk check-in process was the only thing that wasn't rank about this experience; every other staff experience was awful. The room was disgusting -- mold in the wallpaper, mold in the grout in the bathroom (LOTS of mold), ceiling falling apart in the bathroom, mold in the room, mold in the wallpaper in the hallways -- and this was an "upgraded" room. When I spoke to them I was told they couldn't move me, and since I prepaid, I couldn't move to another hotel. the carpet was so dirty I had to walk around with shoes on, and the air conditioning barely kept the room livable. I will post pictures here of the bathroom. I really don't understand how this is up to NY state standards, and I will be contacting their health inspector offices.
