We arrived in the middle of the night and were very tired after a full day of work and a long drive.
Our 1st room was full of fleas. In my entire life none of my dogs ever had fleas. I know it's a gamble but this room was INFESTED. The room had a smell. The sheets were not comfortable and questionable.
My partner and I really enjoyed the town and was thinking of staying and extra night to relax. Saturday night when we realized our dogs high discomfort and discovered fleas the gentleman at the front desk switched our room from 134 to 136. What a difference. There wasn't a smell and the sheets felt a whole lot better. However, we had to break night attending to our dogs and trying to find some immediate flea treatments. (My dogs are extremely well care for. They are groomed regularly. Are given a Sentinel Tab once a month year round. When traveling or going to a dog park wear flea collars and are given flea drop treatments from Spring to Summer.) This was a nightmare for me. My shitzu Charlie is still healing from the skin irritations this caused.
I am glad they moved our room. I am also glad that they gave us another complimentary night. We wanted it and needed it now that we were sleep deprived.
The next issue is the staff. Besides the gentleman who checked us in and moved our room the staff's customer service at this hotel is by far the worst I have ever experienced.
On the phone when I called to confirm my reservations the lady on the other line was short and unwelcoming.
The dark-skinned lady at the breakfast lounge was AWFUL. She was beyond disrespectful and unprofessional. She was confrontational in front of everyone there and showed no respect or regard for none of the families. I felt her vibe Saturday morning but it was direct to me so I brushed it off.
Sunday morning, I was picking out a pastry and I felt a tap on my right shoulder. I turned to see and she was holding a tool and some food and told me in a very nasty and harsh tone, "YOU ARE FINE! TURN AROUND!"
My respond was, "excuse me?" She continued with, "I DIDN'T TOUCH YOU. TURN AROUND!" I attempted to deescalate the situation by explaining that I only turned around because I felt a tap. She responded with, "Whatever. Nobody touch you. Keep moving..." I was in complete shock and tired from the night before. The families in the room were just staring in shock as well. I told my partner what has happened and she said she felt a bad vibe from her as well and advise to just let it go. That particular individual's complete demeanor was just HORRIBLE.
In addition, whenever I ran into staff I would greet them with good morning, good afternoon, etc., and didn't receive a response; not even a smile in return.
Sunday morning's front desk lady was also shockingly unprofessional. Because of the night we had we were told to go to the lobby in the morning. When we went to speak to her she came off very condescending and tried to brush off the circumstance. When we went back to her to see what the general manger decided, we sat there waiting patiently, because we didn't want to upset any other guest with the flea story. So, as we sat there she was complaining about a coworker calling out, that she worked 2 jobs, that the general manager was upset, she made references about her coworker converting to "Amish". In addition, every room she checked out had an issue, which raised flags for us. However, when it was our turn to speak to her she was a lot nicer and understanding this time.
General Manager: we never got the chance to meet him or her, but at least they were accommodating to our matter and we appreciate that.
Overall, I don't think we would ever stay at this hotel again. We honestly tried to make the best of it and are grateful for the gentleman that checked us in and attended us the night of our horror flea story. The general manger also made a choice to make our experience a better one and that was nice. Nonetheless, our overall experience at this hotel was not a good one.
