They call at the door, you ask for a comparison of the rates and they don't have it. You must first sign a contract and you will receive the comparison and confirmation of the contract by post. From the day of receipt of these 2 documents you have 2 weeks to send a revocation and terminate the contract.
But when the contract is canceled, they do it hard. I sent a registered letter on time (2 days after receiving the confirmation of the contract) but 2 weeks later my contract has not been canceled yet. I receive a letter from my current supplier to report the meter readings for NATURAL GAS and ELECTRICITY.
I will immediately call Electrabel to find out why my contract has not yet been canceled. I talk to a woman first. She tries to convince me to stay with electrabel and then she says that my cancellation was late because I signed my contract more than a month ago. I answer that according to my contract (it is written on it) I had to send the revocation within 2 weeks after receiving the confirmation of the contract. And I sent a registered letter 2 days after receipt. She says she can't help me because it isn't and she connects me to someone else. The man is a bit more friendly and explains why my contract has not yet been canceled: "You sent the cancellation only for natural gas and not for electricity, so you are still registered." . If so, why has eandis also sent a letter regarding the change of electricity supplier? I hope that the contract has finally been canceled and advise everyone to just keep their door closed if someone from ENGie rings the doorbell. What a waste of time!
