Prices for tickets, beer and food all went up agai...

Prices for tickets, beer and food all went up again this summer. Unlike professional baseball, including nearby Beloit and Appleton MLB farm teams, the Mallards do not pay any of the players. They should pass those cost savings into lower ticket, beer and food costs. if were not going to have a professional team, let's at least make the prices reasonable.

I was at the game on 6/1/17, and there were double digits in errors (although many were not counted). Sometimes balls were overthrown two times in the same play, and once it happened in between hitters as infield tossed the ball around. This is entertaining in a Bad-News-Bears kind of way, but not in a 'Baseball like it outta be' kind of way. Do not expect a high level of play, and because the team players switch every year, it's hard to get too invested as a fan. Madison deserves to have baseball that includes future and past MLB players. This level of ball largely does not.

There are festivals and free music options virtually every night of Summer across Madison, and we do not have to pay $6.50 for a beer or $7 for a shot glass of wine. Or even buy a ticket. If owners refuse to become a MLB farm team, the smartest thing they could do is shave 50 cents off all the prices, and hold it there next year. Otherwise, people will find other things to do.
