I was just going there for a UBC grad photo. I did...

I was just going there for a UBC grad photo. I didn't need to pay anything because this is one of those class photos that my school had prepaid for, but Artona deceived me into paying an extra "$60 deposit" without even telling me why, they made me think the $60 deposit was mandatory just to get my grad photos taken. They also made my life more miserable by shipping the sample booklet to my home address in Calgary rather than my home address in Vancouver, I had painstakingly reminded them to ship to my Vancouver address!!!! Consequently there was no way for me to personally return the booklet and get my $60 deposit back. I personally wasted a lot of time calling them about this and my parents had to also waste time mailing the sample booklet back to Artona so that I might finally get my deposit back (not to mention having to waste money to pay for an envelope!). I'm still waiting for my $60 deposit back as I am writing this review, I hope they keep their word and no nasty surprise.

Artona conspiracy theory:
1. Deceive student into paying an extra $60 deposit for an otherwise free school organized photo shoot for year end class composite.
2. Make it extraordinarily annoying and time consuming for students to get the $60 deposit back (returning the physical booklet back to Artona). I guess some students just end up paying for something at Artona because they felt too lazy to go through the return process.
