La Mer felt very much a business dinner type place...

La Mer felt very much a business dinner type place. It is in a fantastic location, however the food and service while not bad didn't blow us away! Now this might have been our expectation was high, we all love Peruvian food, particularly Coya and Lima in London, so was a little disappointed with the ceviche which although tasty was more like sashimi size pieces of fish. The empanadas were outstanding. The skewers where meh! The beef heart skewer just tasted, well it actually didn't taste of anything!

The server and the lady bussing the table were really pleasant and I would have given a 4 star if it hadn't been for the senior guy reprimanding the lady bussing the table right next to us for something that we hadn't even noticed or commented on. In fact she was very polite and helpful. Please coach/reprimand your staff away from table and preferable not in earshot of the diners!

I wouldn't recommend La Mer, the food is okay, service okay and it is not cheap!
