Was told this was the best steakhouse in Indy and it s the only steakhouse I hadn t been to in Indy so I had high hopes. The service was alright. Felt like we were treated differently than the older couples that were seated near us. My bf and I ordered two different appetizers, the house bread and the coconut shrimp. Not sure if the bread was meant to be cold but it was. The coconut shrimp was delicious. We also ordered the lobster Mac n cheese and the regular mashed potatoes along with the most expensive steak on the menu (the wagyu tomahawk) medium rare and blackened. When we received the steak and side dishes, our first move was to go for the steak and make sure it was cooked perfectly. It was rare, very rare, all the way out to the edges. Normally at any other steakhouse I ve been to, the server always immediately makes sure we re happy with our steak before walking away. It was about five minutes before one of our servers came back up to us, and while we were waiting I of course tried the side dishes which were both delicious. When our server finally did approach us, we told him our steak was not medium rare and he asked us to cut into the middle to make sure, even though you could clearly see where we had already taken a chunk off the edge that it was rare all the way to the edge. So he agreed it was rare and we asked if it was possible to put the steak back on and he said yes and sent it back. In the meantime, our sides sat in front of us and got cold. It was easily another fifteen to twenty minutes before we received our steak back, and at this point I m frustrated because I had expected this be a top notch experience and I see my steak being returned to me completely charred. The inside was definitely still a bit too rare for my taste but it was better than before, so we decided to give it a try. I was only able to take a total of about two to three bites and I knew I wasn t going to be able to eat any of it due to the fact that the outside was completely burnt. Overall, my steak was burnt, my side dishes cold, and the only things I really got to enjoy was the coconut shrimp. I gave two stars because the service wasn t horrible, and the shrimp was good. I ve been to plenty of steakhouses though, and it was very clear we did not receive a $135 steak after it had been cooked poorly, and I expected the service to be way better than it was especially when I was seeing other people seated near us getting treated with the utmost respect. Very disappointed and skeptical as to whether I will ever return considering the chef wasn t apologetic nor were the servers who clearly saw our steak go from very rare to charred. We were not offered any alternative solutions. Two of us and our bill was $230, and I was only able to enjoy one item.
