Came here during our first vacation to Austin. As a small-town girl, movies are a popular past time for me. My local friend highly recommended going to one of the Alamo theaters while we visited. This particular theater only has two auditoriums and you climb stairs to enter it. I didn't notice an elevator, but I presume they are required to have one.
The theater was strange to me with the "dinner and a show" set up, and, as one of only two customer groups in the theater, we felt obligated to order some of the moderately pricey (for a movie theater) food. It wasn't particularly great food, but it wasn't bad either. Our attendant was very nice and friendly. Ultimately, I think I prefer a traditional theater like AMC or Regal where you get snacks before you go inside for your movie.
