FUNPLEX is an indoor and outdoor amusement park. Bringing the Jersey Shore rides, food and games of chance to one location.
We tried the Sunday before Noon $25.00 admission. That gives you unlimited rides in the ride area, some arcade games and video games are included. You are given a wrist band that allows unlimited play. Those games available are flashing green on the swipe mechanism. Your wristband has an RF card that the reader recognizes for unlimited play. Lots of games are flashing Green. Rideable Motorcycles, 1st person shooter ganes and old Skool games like Asteroid and Miss Packman are some to choose from. I didnt play them all and I was there for three hours.
The rides are full size amusement rides like Tilt-a-whirl, air shot (sitting with legs dangling) spinning around, bumper cars (small and large) Go Karts (crowd favorite so you have to wait) 4D first person shooter. (Crowd chooses the game).
Laser Tag is included in the before Noon package.
There is a large area you walk into that is full of soft almost inert foam balls. The room consists of a center area with a large cauldron that you throw the balls (of which there is a multitude) inside. At some point you or someone else pushes a button and balls are sucked up by a vaccum and launched into the air falling all around. Walking a few feet up steps takes you to a catwalk surrounding the central pit. Along this catwalk are cannons that use a vaccum to shoot the balls into the area below. Kids yelling, balls flying all in a small area. Parents are also inside. And eventually they get into the action too.
Games of chance in the arcade are not included in the $25.00 admission. You can buy a card and preload your credits. Tickets are saved on the card for redemption when you leave or save them for another trip. The games of chance (the claw) are both Play until you win, and a One drop one chance (with minimal win). Stand games of chance exist.
In the ride area there are other games of chance. Spraying water. Popping balloons that give you a chance to win prizes of stuffed animals. It does create a Jersey Shore feel.
Food - the food is surprisingly very good. The pizza in the cafe is real dough risen pizza. The Quesadillas were very good with a large enough portion to take home. The Coffee was decent enough and not watery, burned or bitter. The pricing was about what you woukd expect for a captive audience but, the quality is way above what you usually find. So if you want to spend a little more eating is a quality option.
There is an entire outside water park and rides but, that doesn't open until Memorial Day. So I was unable to review that part of Playplex.
