My experience with the service department was hand...

My experience with the service department was hands down the worst experience I've had with ANY business in my entire life. I was having a no crank, no start issue with my 03 silverado. I personally tested some of the electrical points (I myself am a certified mechanic) and found that the ignition switch had power in and nothing out. So I tried replacing the switch and still no start, but now the security light was on. I called the service department to ask if it needs to be reflashed after replacing the switch or if I should continue to troubleshoot. The tech I talked to said yes, bring it in and we can reflash it. I then talked to a girl at the front counter to schedule and appointment for 8am the following day. The next morning I show up and they didnt even have my appointment scheduled! I also had some info about it to give to the technician and asked to have him call me before he starts working on it. I was ignored and told to go to the waiting room. When I was leaving I asked again and was ignored.. again... I get a call late that afternoon saying they need more time and will get back to it on Monday. I went in to get a couple things out of my truck, was treated extremely rudely and ignored again when I asked to leave a note with CEL codes I had from the truck and i noticed they had the ignition switch pulled out (will be an important observation at the end) Monday rolls around and i call in, they told me they figured it out, a wire had been burnt and they want $1300 to fix it. It took 3 phone calls to get a break down of why it cost so much. I was told at the beginning that it would cost $126 fee to diagnose the issue, figured it was worth it to save the hassle myself. Apparently they were charging that by hour! 5.5 hours of diagnostics! I will say after I explained my situation they did work with me on the price and if that were it, I would've gave 3 stars or at least 2. However, my reason for one (zero if I could) is this... I got my truck back almost a week after I was told to expect it, tech got sick, I understand that. What I'm not okay with is that I go to start up my truck and the key turns freely in the lock cylinder, no clicks doesnt power up, just nothing. So I pop off the cover to check the ignition switch (the one I saw they had pulled out) and the ignition switch wasnt even clipped in all the way and had fallen out of position! Thank god I know my way around a vehicle otherwise these guys would have surely taken advantage of my situation. Rude, dishonest (or uninformed) employees and sub-par work. Maybe my experience was a one off and they are really great, but I can tell you after all this I will never be back to find out.
