Incredibly Pleasant Surprise!

Incredibly Pleasant Surprise!
We booked late and didn't have a huge choice. That, and we didn't want to blow a fortune. From moment one to departure, we adored Bellevue House. Check in was a breeze. Parking is private, right in back and free. Location is amazing - a short walk to the pier, very short walk to Tennis Hall of Fame. Challenging but gorgeous walk down Bellevue to see the mansions and do "Cliff Walk". The room itself was honestly a huge shock. Large, lovely appointments, comfy bed, huge bathroom, sitting area and a small sink/fridge/freezer area. Our room was on the first floor and while we thought it might be noisy, the AC drowned out any extraneous noise - and there really wasn't much anyway. We ended up spending quite a bit of time sitting on the front porch, making friends with other travelers, drinking wine. We bought cheese, crackers and fruit and literally never had to leave once we started chatting with our neighbors. You can watch the world go by here, or get out in the mix. Either way, it's a huge value and really just a well-run, "sleeper-hit" type of boutique inn - totally unexpected but set the bar for future stays. (And frankly, why stay anywhere else when we found this gem?)
