I got my new forever son dog through AAC after looking online at all the dogs from many shelters and found Maxx's picture and was hooked. I filled out the visitor paperwork online and sent an email and after calling to see if I could get the contact information for the foster parent he was living with and found out that I would have to wait for email response or make the drive to the center to get the information. I didn't want to miss my chance to get Maxx so I made the drive to the center and got the contact information I needed to meet Maxx and foster mom. Luckily the meet and greet went well and the adoption happened. After a month I have no regrets except that I couldn't adopt more. I recommend if you're planning on getting a new pet to check out the shelters first they're so over crowded and it's not only cats and dogs they take in animals and they need good homes. This is my family's 2nd adoption through AAC and although there was some confusion about the process because he was in foster care and the center is so overwhelmed, I would totally do it again.
