I simply adore the botanical gardens, I ve spent many a weekend walking around taking in the beautiful surroundings and gathering my thoughts. They are truly beautiful, you have to see the gardens in person to appreciate their true beauty. You will learn something from each and every visit. I still get lost in thought in the butterfly farm. They often have events throughout the year so be sure to check their calendar, it gets very busy and I personally prefer to visit at quieter times. The cafe has a simple menu although it is expensive given the quality of product supplied, if you have special dietary requirements you may be better off bringing your own food.
