We just had our bachelorette party there last nigh...

We just had our bachelorette party there last night 8/26 and we had of one the large suites for all of us girls. The room was really clean and well prepared with enough towels and blankets for everyone. We went to the spa earlier that morning at 10am for massages and manicures. Most of the girls said their massages were great but two of us had manicures but from my personal experience I get my nails done often and I'm not even high maintence and the nail service was awful. I am literally not trying to be a brat but I'm not kidding it was awful my nails look terrible and so did my friends. It hurt when she cut my cuticles she didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. That's just the start. They said from day one our prices and that was added 18% gratuity added into the total. I checked my bank statement later and they had charged me $30 extra so they charged me $87 for a manicure then everyone else checked their statements and they charged everyone else an extra $30. Maybe there was an mistake but a mistake on all eight of our bills seems a little more than a mistake. Maybe they thought we were just a bunch of naive girls in our late 20s and wouldn't notice. The next morning we woke up to leave for checkout they put the bill under our door like all hotels do and they charged an extra $90 onto the bill and we checked with the front desk and they said it was the 125% gratuity added. We then proceeded to ask how they missed to tell us about the 125% gratuity and they said "We don't usually tell our guest because we are trying to figure out a way to tell guest without pushing them away from staying here" okay well in our defense you can't avoid telling your guest that you are adding more onto their bill afterwards. One of the guys out front snapped at us because we didn't hear him say he was grabbing our ticket so we asked him again about it just to make sure we would get one and he was just rude. Not the worst hotel experience I have ever had but the JW did not meet our expectations last night for our bachelorette party. I stay at a decent amount of hotels for work and from touring and that will be the last time I stay at the JW in Grand Rapids.
