My wife and I planned a trip to Ireland for our wedding anniversary. I contacted the Maigue to discuss a wedding anniversary dinner. I was very clear that I was looking for a fine dining experience with an intimate ambiance. I was assured that this is exactly what it was. I booked a table for two. We arrived this evening to a noisy restaurant with a table of 6 young children talking and crying / screaming ( I say this as a loving grandparent) .It forced the volume up elsewhere, so the fine dining experience turned into more of a canteen experience at fine dining prices.
It spoilt our evening. I am particularly annoyed by being misled. This is not an intimate , fine dining restaurant, it is a restaurant embedded in a hotel with fine dining food, but is a complete lottery as to whether you experience a calm, relaxed ambience or bedlam.
