I was there for eight days before my family discharged me. I was there for a depression and anxiety problem. I have never touched alcohol or drugs. This facility is a great place for young adults to detox, but not to overcome a depression problem. Each "group" has a discussion about drug and alcohol using in some way. On weekends there are guest speakers. The guest speakers all talk about their past drug experiences. In no way at all was that helpful to someone there for depression. There was maybe two people in the entire place there for depression. Everyone else was there for drugs. To me, that was terrifying because I have never been around things like that. Not to mention the required UA and search I had to preform when I first got there. Also, the girls showers are disgusting, and one morning I woke up with ants in my hair. I would not recommend putting your child with a depression disorder in Northwest Behavioral Healthcare Services. Everyone in the facility, including staff, called it "rehab", when I, and everyone else knew that I was not an addict. Also my second and third day there my anxiety was to bad that I couldn't eat and I would vomit off and on throughout the day. All of the staff just assumed that I was having withdrawals. I also felt that I couldn't ask for something because someone would put it off, ignore it, or forget it. At NWBHS, I hand to preform a search and UA, give urine test for STD's, and get injected by something to test for TB.
