So, have you ever been to a reception or a restaurant where service was a buffet but there was only one long line of buffet dishes set up on tables against a wall? A long line of hungry diners shuffling their way through while those behind fidgeted and wondered what was taking so long.

Well, with over 300 conference attendees, the Boston Park Plaza had this inefficiency solved. Three lines of duplicate buffet dishes arranged in the middle of a room with lines of people going along both sides of the tables, each side having its own utensils. In other words, six fast moving lines resulting in happy eaters being able to get their meals quickly. Brilliant!

Breakfast included all the standards but I think the dining highlight was the lunch offerings. Kudos to the citrus vinegarette, creamy clam/oyster chowder, fall apart tender beef stew, and al dente veggies. But nicely packed lobster rolls on a buffet? Those were a sweet surprise.

So what if I couldn't turn around in my tiny bathroom? The shower had excellent pressure and the bed was very comfortable. I think I heard that a $100M hotel renovation was recently completed. It shows. One thing I appreciated was that with a bank of six elevators, there was never a long wait to go up or down.

And the second day's sit down chicken entree lunch was served quickly and the food was hot. The dessert below was just too good!

Good conference, good time in Boston.
