It was a last minute decision to go to the symphony. I used to have season tickets, so I know the seating layout. However, the seating chart can be accessed on Google. The ticket office opens at noon on Saturday and I requested center orchestra. I ended up in row Y, second to the last row, in the center. The ticket was under $30 with fees and the view and sound were amazing! Drew Petersen's, piano, dynamic performance of Rhapsody in Blue was flawless.
I arrived at the parking structure on State Street at 7:30 pm for an 8 pm concert. There's a $10 fee. Got a terrific spot in a corner. There are elevators and a sky walk over to the PAC. There should be a meet and greet after the concert to slow down departures. As traffic from the upper levels zipper in, it seems to take forever to leave the structure onto a busy downtown street. And, there's no one directing traffic. PATIENCE required. Headed east only to find most street under construction.
Tony Desare, piano and voice, performs Ray Charles, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Jerry Lee Lewis in GREAT BALLS of FIRE March 23 - 25. Sounds like a fun evening!
