A very disappointing experience, especially compared to a similar size/type of a museum (Dali museum in Figueres, Picasso museum in Paris, Rodin museum in Paris, villa Borghese in Rome, etc.). The museum is located in the centre of Amsterdam in a very dark modern style building with minimal access to natural light, all artificial lighting in the museum is poor, which made it practically impossible to view (let alone enjoy) the artwork. About 60% of all pieces presented are by other artists who one way or the other were related to Van Gogh at different times in life. Audio guide presentation sounded more like a selling point for the museum lacking facts. On Monday afternoon in February when the weather was at its worst, the museum was packed with people, making it again nearly impossible to approach the paintings. Annotations to paintings are done in small print which you can't read. Don't waste your time and money.
