We treat our au pairs well and they are a highly valued part of our family. We have had 3 au pairs through Smartaupairs and have loved the experience. My family have developed close relationships with each au pair and we hope to visit them in their home country in the future.

Highly recommend Smart Au Pairs Australia. We have two small children and both work fulltime. Their online platform was easy to use and gave us a good deal of information about candidates. Of course the responsibility is on you to determine if the candidate is a fit for your household; our priority was on someone who could be a "big sister" to our kids and not simply a domestic help. We were also pleased with the support our four - to-date - au pairs have had from the agency. Happily recommend and use again.

I would highly recommend smart au pairs to my friends and those looking for their next host family. In fact I have told my au pair friends how helpful the agency was in rehousing me when my two other families did not workout. I was very happy to have a great team to rely on being so far away from home. They were very supportive and persistent on finding my perfect family. Without the agencies help I don t think I would of found my family as I wouldn t of had the energy to go back to the drawing board on my own. My friends who went without an agency agreed with me. We have had three lovely Dutch au pairs over the past two years. We have loved every one (despite our hesitations in welcoming a young adult into our home)! The girls have brought much laughter and love into our lives. They have also allowed my husband and I a lot of flexibility in childcare arrangements. We even go on the occasional date night now! I found smart au pairs to be initially helpful. Very willing to take my money.

Quality of au pairs hit and miss, their vetting process is rather flimsy. Conflict resolution when things so pear shaped is terrible and will replace a dangerous au pair in another family.

Do not conduct proper investigations and are not PCI compliant.

It's a start up business without the professionalism and passion that you ordinarily see in a start up.

My recommendation is to use ANY other agency available to you in Sydney.

Do not recommend! Please avoid if you dont want to be dissapointed! We lost huge placement fees, went through a lot of heartache due to girls from this agency. Agency would not answer phone or emails. Agree with previous comments of hit and miss and improper vetting process.

I would highly recommend Smart Au Pairs! When I wasn't happy in my host family they helped me find a new family in less than a week. They called me multiple times during the week to check in on me to see if I was okay. Big thanks and love to these amazing people!

Having previously sourced Au Pairs from elsewhere I have found Smart Au Pairs to be an outstanding business that have acted with the utmost professionalism. The Au pair applications that were provided were of high quality and the hardest part was deciding which Au Pair was the best match for our family. There have been follow ups along the way to ensure everything is going ok as well as a good amount of information made available for anyone new to having an Au pair. I would highly recommend using this business if you require an Au Pair.

We used Smart Au Pairs to find an Au Pair for our young family. We had excellent customer service from a number of smart au pair agents, in particular Camilla Davis.
Every concern or query was answered immediately. They have followed up on our Au Pair to check she is happy and safe and that we are happy with her.
They have organised amazing au pair catch ups and surfing weekends so our Au Pair can make friends with other Au Pairs. They provide handbooks and interview guidelines to ensure the process is easy to follow.
They provided references and police checks on all Au pairs so it is a thorough and safe process for all involved.
Excellent cultural exchange program and our house is a much happier and calmer place with our Au Pair.
Cannot recommend this agency highly enough for getting help getting help in your home!!!

I have used Smart Au Pairs twice to find an Au pair to helping in my family. They are very helpful in providing the initial screening and cut down time for busy families in scrolling through numerous listings on FB or other websites.
The also provide good support for the Au Pairs.

Nicole and team have been great to work with. Having an au pair be a part of our family has given us great flexibility around our professional lives. The kids have enjoyed having a "big sister" and love their extended play and park time with them and also learning bits of another language/culture. As we had no prior experience hosting an au pair, the agency has been very proactive in assisting us through this process. They regularly check in with the family and the au pair which is great. There are lots of websites where you can search for au pairs on your own, but the time saving, background checks and replacement guarantee that the shortlisted candidates that smart au pairs provides is priceless especially since you're going through this process every 6 months.

Online process is great! I have had Aupairs through SmartAupairs for 4 years now. The office girls are amazing. Our family could not function without their/our lovely Aupairs.

When i left my family they didnt help me to get a new one and got a new au pair without telling me.

Maintain no contact and the standard of Au Pairs they get are terrible. Quick to take your money then forget about you. You can find a better standard of Au Pairs advertising online yourself.

I have hosted several au pairs through Smartaupairs and have always been impressed with their professionalism and the candidates they provided.

Their candidates are very thoroughly screened and all paperwork is available for families to review. My requests have always been handled quickly and kindly.

Having someone live in your home doesn't always go to plan, but it's great knowing there are staff members to assist with any bumps in the road.

Thanks to Smart Au Pairs, I have had the opportunity to live in Australia since January 2019. Through this review I would like to thank them for all they have done for me during my time here. From the moment I arrived I have felt welcomed and supported by the team. I have had the opportunity to attend great events, I got to know people from all around the world and I lived right in the centre of Manly, one of Sydney's Northern Beaches. Their personal approach as well as their interest in and knowledge of the au pair industry is genuine and really makes a difference when you are travelling to Australia by yourself, especially when you originally live on the other side of the world. Smart Au Pairs are an excellent au pair agency. They are very responsive and supportive throughout the entire experience.

Like many genuine parents our experience with this agency has been appalling. This is an unregulated industry and sites like Smart Au Pairs are typically run from home by ex Au Pairs who either take a clip from the "stipend" or pocket money that is paid to the Au Pairs and or charge a hefty "placement" fee by presenting Au pairs who they simply find by contacting overseas agencies or solicting Au Pairs who register on free websites like Au Pair World, something you can do yourself anyway.

They pretend to "match" you with Au Pairs, but the reality is its whomever is available at the time. Save your money - $1000+ "placement" fee every 6 months plus a $200 "joining" fee and other charges is not worth it for presenting a few names you could have found yourself. You do all the work anyway, all the Skype interviews, all the schedule negotiations, the pocket money negotiations, get the police check from them and check their preferences and references and then you select your Au Pair and essentially you take all the risk.

Smart Au Pairs play a "middleman" role and get you to sign an agreement they have created that allows them to charge their fees every time you like someone. If your Au Pair leaves, for example because they get homesick, which is quite common, then its pot luck if they actually have someone else and then you have to go through the whole process again which often takes months. If your Au Pair is genuinely just terrible, Smart AuPairs don't care, they will simply place them with another unsuspecting family and charge another hefty fee.

If you ever have a concern, you can NEVER get a hold of them. Its is my experience a scam, an abuse of an industry that is not yet regulated and although some have a had a reasonable experience, its due to the wonderful Au Pair themselves, not the agency. Smart Au Pairs is a terrible agency to deal with, and good luck trying to get a refund !

We have used five au pairs from this agency and have found Smart au pairs to be really helpful and professional. The candidates are all screened in their home country and are really lovely and enthusiastic and we recommend this service to anyone requiring the help of an au pair
