My wife booked this hotel room for us. When we arrived she had misplaced her ID. They told her they can't give the room to her without the ID, but that she would be charged regardless...

There have got to be ways to work this out in the event that this happens. I even offered my ID and credit card to cover everything and the guy refused. It's mind boggling.

They aren't capable of solving common problems such as this one, and it really soured our stay.

Not the experience we expect from the Ritz.
