Fantastic place to visit for kids of all ages and adults alike! Set atop a hill in Newtown the Wellington zoo is home to all sorts of animals. Zoo keepers have talks and feedings at different enclosures at seperate times which is great for kids to learn and ask questions. Recent (since I've been back) additions include a Kea exhibit where you are in the cage with them (very cool), and a neighbors exhibit which has wallabys also roaming freely with you. Great Cafe and kids playgrounds setup so a bit to keep them entertained if the animals are hiding. Also believe that you can purchase a year family ticket so you and the little ones can come back anytime, highly recommend as an activity for a family on a sunny Wellington day.
