Hotel services and spa are great. My poor rating is because of the laxity in security. Given the Babu Owing incident where he drunkenly pulled a gun on a DJ and shot him several injuring and changing the course of this man's life, you would think more precautions would be taken to guarantee safety of ALL guests. That's not the case. While at Kempinski today we were hassled by the security at the main entrance to the concierge to search us yet we were posing a few questions to the valet about our car. In the time it took for us to speak to valet, two "VVIPS" drove in, walked right by security and into the hotel without getting searched. Reason being they are armed and governors so they can't be searched. What is the logic in that??? So risk the security of civilians for at times irrational "VVIPs"?? Last I checked this wasn't George Orwell's animal farm. Just letting you know that is the status of security at Kempinski as of July 2020.
