Review of Captain's Club Hotel

Wow... Went in for my 30th as a group of 5 on the 5th March. The atmosphere of this place is odd! It's trying too hard to make money, selling jewellery and art on the walls; and basically feels like a really expensive pub/shop/restaurant/hotel. So, which is it...?

Sat in the bar waiting area/lobby and there were crying kids and dogs? The staff seemed like they were only there for a pay packet and not actually enjoy their jobs or were even proud of what they do.

It all seems bit off balance. Thing is you can tell the place is trying too hard to make as much money as possible in a short space of time. I have had the privilege of working and dinning at some really good restaurants and hotels and so I will simply say this:
If you're good at what you do, you don't need to pack your place out to bursting, you ease the flow of people you and don't have to sell the paintings on the wall or jewellery on the side! You don't have and atmosphere of a cheap pub/cafe needing a bit of extra turn over. On the food side I cannot comment (sure it is good..?) but needless to say due to the feel of the place and tackiness we didn't stay or finish our drinks!! We just left and will definitely not be visiting again!!

Think it is a place to go if you have made a few quid and want show off your new clubs or watch; while getting mugged off. You can afford it if you want to with tons of choice to show you can. So a place for people with fake t*ts and that are just a**holes.

Want make it better? Pick what you are. Stick to your guns. Trying to do everything is just cheap.
