Definitely is taking a turn for the worse since it's inception. Apparently they are trying to "revamp" the place by making the menu more expensive and the vibe less unique. The food wasn't as good the last time we went, and the wait staff were having to scramble to keep up with the bumbling kitchen and bar, definitely not like I had ever seen Lowbrow before the "new management" took over. I am not a restaurateur, nor can I call myself an experienced critic of food in anyway, but I've lived in Houston for a long time (in the loop I mean, from the Houston area though) , and it was refreshing to see place like Lowbrow pop up when it did, serving food most of us could afford and local beer, with a fun environment that definitely fit the vibe of what Montrose used to be. Although I am severely disappointed to see the direction that Lowbrow is taking, it somewhat is indicative of how Montrose is changing, the accessible but unique places are being replaced by the expensive and bland. To the new management, I sincerely hope you do well, but you won't do it with my support, as far as I am concerned, you are now part of the savage wave of white-washed, boring, yuppie culture that has almost completely taking over Montrose. You can keep your $20 cheeseburgers, $8+ beers, and uninteresting vibe, I'll go find a new neighborhood to go hang out in.
