The Australian Centre for the Moving Image is one ...
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image is one of the better museums that Melbourne has on offer. It is located right on Fed Square, just across the road from Hosiers Lane and nestled in amongst the impressive postmodern architecture.
Their website describes their story as follows:
"A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne's iconic meeting place, Federation Square, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) celebrates, explores and promotes the cultural and creative richness of the moving image in all its forms - film, television and digital culture."
I have mainly experience the exhibitions that change quite frequently. One of which was a free exhibition that told through a range of short videos Australia's love affair with travelling and the Kombi camper vans. The other exhibition that I remember quite vividly was a video games one that offered you the chance to explore its history and also play a large number of classic games.
