I live in Seattle, and I do not consider it a hassle to travel to Portland to get my bicycles serviced semi-annually. I also purchase all parts for my Brompton from Clever Cycles - chain, cassette, tubes, and tires. In every aspect of their business operation, the quality of service and product is flawless. I can always sense that their mechanics worked on my bike as if it was their own bikes, which is a quality near impossible to find in any kind of service business, be it a bicycle shop, auto mechanic, or house contractors. When I purchase parts, they are always packaged with care, and shipped swiftly. They always answer my inquiries with great care, even if it does not lead to a sale. Clever Cycles seem to simply want to get more people to enjoy cycling. If I ever move to Portland, the decision would have been made in -part to be closer to Clever Cycles.
