Showed up to MRI on time. Never received a letter or call about the appointment. only knew about the appointment because I received a text message and called to see why I was getting an appointment message. Was told there was two MRI appt and that was it. The clerk at MRI loudly scolded me for not having paperwork completed and stated, we run like clockwork, get them in and out; you should have had it done already. RUDE beyond belief. I did not realize I was a mind reader and a unit in a cattle drive. The MRI is located in a vehicle outside. You change inside into a lofty gown, walk out into the open hall, keep your boots on (literally), and walk out into the public parking lot (in your lofty gown) into the cold to get to the mobile unit-- WOW! It was freezing tat day and I don't blame the tech for staying in the vehicle and not escorting me back inside. Good thing I didn't fall on the ice as the metal stairs were slippery.
Second appt- neurology: Dr. Informented me interns would be coming in- no problem. As I was shocked to check my muscles, the two interns lingered at my head discussing which places they liked to intern and talked personal stuff with little interest of what was going on medically in front of them. I could barely hear the Dr. giving me instructions. Half way through, an obvious unseasoned intern blurted out "anything abnormal?" Thanks for the sensitivity. While still in the exposing gown and trying to rush out to get to a meeting, the two interns stood in the room talking socially and laughing; I had to wait for them to get out to change. Finally the doctor prompted them to leave. Told me I would get the results later that day. They called (plus) but I was just walking into the a meeting. The nurse seemed a little ticked that I would not take the call (even though I was told a doctor would call). She said she would call back in a hour...never happened. My guess is I won't get called back. From my experience, you have one shot with calls; either your answer and talk, or they push it off.
