Not the place to get married.

Not the place to get married.

Got married here on 09/09/2017 because I loved the Avi's private island, but the location was the only thing I liked about it.

Debby, the events and banquet coordinator, was difficult to work with the entire 8 months I was trying to plan my wedding. Communication was poor (I'd ask many questions in one email and get only one question amswered), communication was untimely, and ultimately, my wedding and reception did not go as planned.

Did not prune the property as I asked if they would. My reception was supposed to be outside. Because of the weather, Debby let me know of a backup plan but also let me know that she would call it on the day of. Day of the wedding I talked to her 3 times and she said we were good for the reception to be outside. As I head out to the island to walk down to the aisle, I saw my reception was not outside. Thanks for the heads up.

Debby knew my wedding colors (teal/grey) way in advance. We picked out the linens. 2 weeks prior to the wedding, Debby let me know she was unable to get the colors I requested. I had to buy my own TEAL cloth napkins. THE WHOLE AVI IS TEAL.

The staff that was bartending my reception were terrible. They wanted $6/beer (when Debby told me previously she would just go to the store and get 30 packs). I asked the bartender if my guests could bring their own alcohol and she said yes. So they went to get their own alcohol, when they brought it back, the other bartender said they couldn't do that and called security on us.

The banquet coordinator, John, tried to help but was not very good. We picked up all our own stuff we wanted to take home. I left my napkins there. Had a really terrible time.

I brought in over 40 people to their casino, for at least two nights, buying food (we went to the buffet as a group), booked rooms, and playing at their games.

Some service I got.
