If one can avoid the Beverly Center, one should. Unless you love malls. It's big, generic, and undergoing a seemingly endless renovation. For years their holiday advertising campaign was based on the notion of Beverly Center being edgy or innovative. This is laughable, considering this claustrophobia-inducing boxy monstrosity--which was the setting for the Woody Allen film "Scenes from a Mall"--is quintessential middle America generica.
