I found a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT online and sent an online inquiry about the vehicle using both AutoTrader and the USAA Car Buying Service. I was contacted quickly via email by Julie (assistant to Abby) who told me that Abby would be calling me. Julie kept communicating with me via email a few times and said Abby would be calling me, but it took over 2 days for someone to finally call me. A gentleman named Charles Jordan (Chuck) eventually called me once a price was agreed upon over email. I then made arrangements to fly from Pennsylvania to Norfolk to close the deal. Chuck arranged for an attendant to pick me up at the airport. The ride was about 45 minutes late, but Chuck explained that new tires were being put on and that they wanted to pick me up in the SRT that I was buying. The vehicle was clean and had plenty of gas, which was nice. Once I got to the dealership, I was greeted by Chuck to complete some basic paperwork. I was then told I would have to pay to have the vehicle certified, which most dealers take care of before advertising since they fully inspect the vehicle and take care of any items that need attention. I was then escorted to finance to complete payment and additional paperwork. There the price of the vehicle changed because they underestimated the Pennsylvania tax, charged me to certify the vehicle, and charged me for the special air in the tires (over $600 extra than what I was quoted by Chuck before I went there). After completing the finance process, I asked Chuck for a spare key. He said they did not have a spare key and that he would have to order one, but I would need to be there to program it. I have never purchased a vehicle (new or used) with only one key and no spare. I was not going to stay in Virginia or come back just to get an extra key, which Chuck knew. Also, the ad said all vehicles come with new wiper blades and floor mats, but mine had used floor mats and the front ones were very worn. The vehicle itself is very nice and was clean when I arrived, but I feel there were some details missed, extra charges not initially mentioned before I went to their business and some basics that other dealerships take care of that were totally dismissed. Since the purchase, I have received at least 2 automated emails asking about my experience and I have replied, but nobody has called or replied back to me. I also asked for something showing that the vehicle is now certified (since I paid $350 extra), but no reply from Chuck. I feel like now that the business transaction is over that I am not important. They only seem to reply to customers that are totally satisfied with no complaints.
