My husband and I stayed here over a weekend and the room was adequate. There were stains on the walls and tapestries but I wasn t too bothered by it. After all, it is an older hotel. The bed was clean and they even covered the tv remote with a plastic bag to combat germs, which I appreciated. When greeted upon arrival, the receptionist appeared tired and short-tempered. He wasn t welcoming at all. But we had a comfortable stay and check-out was a breeze... That was until I checked my bank statements. I checked Monday morning and everything matched up with my receipt given to me via email. The next day I checked my bank account again and noticed I had an additional charge from the Sheraton with an additional $50 tacked on. Immediately, I called the hotel and the representative couldn t explain the double charge. She said it was just a mistake when I asked why I would be double charged. She never apologized. She even said it could be because they attempted to charge me for a deposit. Isn t a deposit to be taken out BEFORE or UPON arrival? And a deposit was never mentioned on my receipt which I signed and authorized. I never received an additional document stating their attempt to take double the money owed. I m highly dissatisfied. I m recommending to my friends, who visit Sacramento and stay at this hotel frequently, to be very wary when booking or to not stay here at all.
