I planned out a 10 day golf trip with 6 of those days being in Scottsdale in February 2020. In mid-December 2019, while trying to arrange everything, I ended up having to change the day of our tee time from Friday to Thursday. The online system is a little clunky when trying to cancel a tee time, so I just called the pro shop on December 19th to make sure that I had gotten the tee time correct and everything else cancelled. Since I had done this a thousand other times at nearly every course I've ever played, I didn't think anything else of it.
We played the Stadium Course on Thursday, February 6th, which is the week after the Waste Management Open, and the stadium was still up for the most part. The course was in perfect shape and the caddy was awesome. However, on Friday, February 9th I received an email saying there was a frost delay. Thinking that was weird, I called the pro shop to ask them why I had sent the email and they told me that I had a tee time that morning and they had booked me as a no-show and charged me $1396. When I told them I called and canceled that more than 6 weeks ago, they more or less told me I was a liar! They wanted me to show proof that I called (like I just keep phone records) and who I spoke to (like anyone would have any idea who I spoke to in the pro shop more than 6 weeks prior).
We spent $2,000 there between four people the day before and they have the audacity to charge me another $1,400 for a mistake they made. I'll never spend another dollar at a TPC course ever again based on this experience. These people are crooks!
