I initially gave a rave 5 star review because the sales agent was so nice and the install was great but have since changed my review. The skybell does not work always, the sales agent misled me on the geo and how it works, the sales agent told me that video on the skybell recorded at night in color, which is not the case, and I was told by the sales agent that they would NOT run my credit for the service, but since they were not going to run it my monitoring fee would be a bit more each month.

I did not want any hard inquiries on my credit report for a security system and I specifically told the rep if that was the case, that I did not want the product. The sales agent just said go ahead and fill out the information but I will personally make sure that they don't run your credit, I even heard him tell someone on the phone not to run it. He assured me of this. AMP did run my credit and I'm still paying the higher amount. I called the agent and he said not to worry about it that it was a soft inquiry only but later found out that that was not the case and it had been reported to all three credit bureaus.

I'm still trying to get it removed off my credit report. When I called the company, I was told that running credit was required for every transaction and there was nothing they could do since I signed paperwork. I'm still waiting for resolution. It's not so much that a hard inquiry hit my credit as the fact that the sales agent was not honest with me and that this is taking so long to get this resolved. 2nd call now to AMP and 2nd to credit bureaus.

It's the point of the matter at this juncture. If you're going to sell a product there is no reason to mislead and take advantage of a customer.

With those couple points my interest rates went up... AMP at the very least encourage your people to be honest. It really does have a huge effect on people probably more than you realize.

Had I known that I was being taken advantage of and had a rep that was being unethical, I never would have purchased the system. I would love to cancel my monitoring all together considering what the rep told me was not accurate but since I signed a contract, I'm fairly certain they're going to stick it to me regardless of what the rep told me. Did I mention I had a home security system already installed before they came to my home... This seemed like such a great product but really it's not much more than what I already had and I'm paying almost $30 more a month. All they had to do was lower my rate back down and remove the information from my credit report from all three bureaus. Feel pretty shafted at this point and have lost faith in this company. They never told me about the cancellation policy. The rep however did tell me that if I ever had to move that I could cancel my contract then. Yet another misleading fact. Trust goes a long way.
