Review of New York Pizza

We were told the pizza would be delivered within 3...

We were told the pizza would be delivered within 35-45 minutes. An hour later, I called to check in and was put on hold for almost 5 minutes. I hung up and called back, he asked me if I could hold and I told him I was checking in on our pizza order.
The guy who answered matter-of-factly said that the delivery guy was there ready to deliver it, but that he was waiting for it to finish cooking. He didn t acknowledge at all that it was late nor offered an apology for the inconvenience. I pointed out that they were already late and he said they d take it as soon as it was done.
About 45 minutes after that, I called to check back in and he said that the delivery guy had just left. I expressed that this was really late and again, no apology and no offer to try to make up for things..
By the time the delivery driver arrived, it was 2 hours after our original order. I was expecting some kind of coupon or gift card for a free next pizza, but nothing like that.
Delivery guy was very nice and I felt bad for him in the awkwardness, but I gave him a tip and asked him to share with the powers-that-be that we won t be ordering from there again.
*Some kind of acknowledgement and apology during the waiting process would have been helpful
*Offering a coupon for a next pizza or something like that would have helped for us to try them again
