My wife and I worked with Jordan Rasberry of Core Assets to find our first ever triplex in Toronto and we can't say enough GREAT things about him!

We love Toronto and we've always wanted to own our own home and move out of the condo we had been renting for the past 4+ years. We were tired of paying our landlord's mortgage and we wanted to own a piece of the city ourselves. We figured out the monthly carry cost of buying a detached home in Toronto is somewhat difficult for most 28-year-old's such as my wife and myself (considering the reported average price of detached home in Toronto just hit $1 million a few months ago). So that being said we decided to buy a triplex instead. This way we could live in one unit and have two other units help contribute to pay the monthly carry cost. Jordan helped us breakdown the numbers (mortgage expense, insurance, prop taxes, utilities, potential rental income) and he showed us how to pick the right property that would set us up for a very minimal out-of-pocket expense to my wife and I.

Being a 1st time home buyer in Toronto is extremely difficult and I can honestly say that we would have been LOST without Jordan. My wife and I had very specific requirements for our ideal home...it needed to be: detached, 4 floors for 3 separate units, 7 ft basement ceilings, have a backyard, with parking, near the subway, near parks, and walking distance to restaurants. It was a LONG list but Jordan managed to find us the perfect home that met EVERY single requirement!

The biggest "value add" we found with Jordan was his ability to breakdown the comparable homes and determine what price (approx) homes we were interested in would end up selling for. This skill of his made our lives SO much easier when it came to potential bidding wars (he was able to pinpoint what a house would sell for within $10k...on million dollar homes it was quite impressive)! And yes, all you 1st time Toronto buyers out there, get ready for Bidding wars...(we were in 3 bidding wars)...they are horrible, but that's exactly why you need a guy like Jordan in your corner to help navigate you through the process!

Jordan also has a very strong background in triplexes (which that was something we didn't have!) so when we walked through triplexes together, he pointed out specific things, things that we never had even thought of before, like water pressure, furnace types, hydro meter setup, firecode, electrical (knob&tube), and the list could go on & on. Bottom line is...he's extremely knowledgeable!

Anyways, my point is, if you're a 1st time buyer like we were and you're considering a multi-unit/triplex setup than I cannot encourage you enough to reach out to Jordan! He's easy to work with, very down to earth, and he'll work tirelessly to make sure you get the home of your dreams!
