I moved out of VA, and in order to obtain my license in this state one of the requirements is an original verification of licensure from the VA board of nursing. So, I sent in my handwritten letter along with the $35 fee. 1 week went by and the GA board never received to licensure; I called VA state board, and after waiting 40 minutes a woman tells me that they sent the verification out 3 days prior. I figured that they just mailed it, instead of faxing it and let it go. It has now been 15 days! I just called, and after waiting another 40 minutes, the same woman that told me the verification was sent is now telling me that VA has yet to send it! They didn't have any issue taking my money, but they can't even find the time to fax out my licensure. This is beyond ridiculous! The hold time before you can speak to someone is crazy long, and once you do get in touch with someone be prepared to either be given false information (just to get you off of the phone), or get transferred to a line that will ring for a good 4 minutes before no one answers and you get the busy dial tone...and inevitably hung up on. The only time I recommend getting licensed for anything in the state of VA, is if you never ever ever ever plan on moving.
