Andy Sandberg Review of Pasture to Plate

I've shopped here casually for a while, they upsell a little but not the worst - but the other day I bought a 1.4 kilo rolled pork roast, all neatly tied, for $42. That should've fed 6 people for at least a couple days, and I roasted it as per usual, but when I cut it open I discovered that it was almost entirely solid fat. Not marbled, not even large chunks, just a single blob of fat with a very thin strip of actual meat. It was enough for a small mouthful each.
That's bad enough, but when I brought it back, the man in charge tried to tell me it "looked delicious," (seriously, this was not "fatty meat," this was pure gooey white fat) that it's a feature of how the pigs are raised, and that it was my fault for picking this roast, or for not unrolling and re-rolling it (when he'd sold it to me as a pre-tied roast).
I'm still a little agog. He was condescending, flat out lied, and tried to bully me into accepting something that was completely inedible. When I said (calmly and a little sadly, because this was a very convenient location for a butcher's, and I hadn't had a problem there before) that I couldn't see my way to coming back, if this was what he was going to sell and pretend was meat, he sputtered and demanded to know what I wanted him to do about it. I said I wanted my money back, and he did that, but I have no confidence that there's anything like decent quality control here, and wont be able to go back.
