Last Friday my wife and I drove down to Durham to visit her father. On the way the air conditioning in our 2010 CRV EX-L died. I first tried calling Southpoint Honda that afternoon to make an appointment but was hung up on several times and when I finally got someone at reception I was put on hold for 15 minutes. In the end I just came in early Saturday morning well prior to the Service department opening. I was met by service advisor Elias Lopez. I told him about the problem asked that he see what was wrong. After waiting about an hour Mr. Elias came out and tried to up-sell me air filters for $150. This was not something I requested and I turned him down. About an hour or more later he finally came back with the prognosis on the air conditioning. He said they would need to replace the compressor at a cost or roughly $1400. Luckily for me they could not get the part till the following Tuesday. My wife and I had to drive back to Philadelphia on Monday and could not wait. Upon getting back home we took the car to our local Honda dealer (Main Line Honda of Ardmore). They arrived at the same prognosis HOWEVER they informed us that there had been problem with his type of compressor and Honda had provided a 7 year warranty from time of purchase. Our car was covered and the cost to replace the compressor was $0. Mr. Lopez did not mention this which I find very dishonest. If the compressor had been available on the Saturday when I brought it in to Southpoint Honda I would have paid $1400 to have it replaced and would probably never have found out it was under warranty and should have been replaced at not charge. I would never bring my car back to Southpoint Honda again and I would never recommend their service department to anyone.

Note that I would not give Southpoint any stars if that was an option.
