Such a bad experience here! Take the longer drive ...

Such a bad experience here! Take the longer drive and go elsewhere. I went in early around 330am on Friday Jan 19. Let's start off with 2 different nurses blew out my veins 3 times to start an IV. They blamed it on my veins(of course). I have NEVER had anyone have trouble starting an IV on me. Anyway they call in a 3rd nurse the 2 other nurses leave the room. This 3rd nurse started IV on the first try and she said that was easy!
The Doctor was nice but not very knowledgeable. She just ran the basic blood and urine work on me. I told her I have NEVER had this type of pain without running any further testing or imaging. I'm given liquid medicine that is suppose to coat my stomach. After taking it not too long later, the doctor comes in and asks me if it helped I tell her no because it really didn't help. I was still hurting. She tells me it's my stomach and sounds like a reflux problem. I get Pepcid electronically sent over to my pharmacy and discharged. As I was being discharged she did mention my ketones in my urine were high.
Anyway I begin to get worse and later on that day, my husband rushed me to the hospital(a different one). I was passing out, shaking, vomited and severe flank pain. We get to other hospital I was rushed in put on fluids and etc... The other hospital did more extensive bloodwork and even imaging because the basic was within normal except the ketones in urine. Come to find out I'm having bad blood sugar problems and I was in pain because of hypoglycemia(Which makes sense because both my parents have glucose issues and are diabetic). If my husband wasn't home I could have died or went into a coma I was told!
My opinion is everyone in the ER department including doctor needs to be retrained by someone VERY experienced and than need to be tested before being allowed back on the floor. This sounds drastic, maybe mean and brutally honest but after my experience and now reading all the horrible reviews SO MANY lives have been put at risk from negligent care. It's time to get it together before people start throwing lawsuits that way.........
